Choppa – Mechanic, Abilities and Mastery

The Choppa (and Slayer) are described as savage fighters who reveal in chaos. They don’t truly have any real crowd control but rather a chance on attack to knock down or pulling enemies towards them, and their AoE doesn’t hit everyone, just random targets, and for more damage. Random high damage that is a healer’s nightmare is their specialty. They are not subtle careers, and their free-thinking playstyle will likely create a lot of havoc on the battlefield.

The careers are not yet available, but from the videos at Comic Con showing Choppa footage some information can be collected.

Berserk

You gain 5 points of Berserk each second you are in combat. As your Berserk rises your attacks become more powerful. If you become too blinded by Berserk fury, you will be Overexerted, diminishing your ability to defend yourself and reducing the effectiveness of your Exhaustive attacks. As soon as you leave combat, your Berserk will fade quickly.

Mastery Paths

Path of the Savage - Dual-wielding and controlled damage. Staying high in Berserk but never too far by dumping Berserk with Exhaustive attacks. Chop chop!

Path of the Big Hitta - Big Exhaustive attacks with two-handed weapons that drain your Berserk. Burst damage. Chop!

Path of the Wrecka - Dual-wielding and completely uncontrolled. Will be as far as possible in the danger zone and swinging wildly at anyone and everything. Will probably give bonuses to AoE. Not very subtle. Chop chop chop!

Abilities

Seen in the video at Gametrailers and typed down on the WHA Choppa forum. All abilities under development so take them with a grain of salt.

Siege Wrecker
No Cost – 65 ft range
3.0 cast – 5m cooldown

You sabotage a siege engine, causing 375 damage to the engine and all players within 30 feet.

Git Stuck In
20 AP – No range
Instant cast – 60s cooldown

Your groupmates are inspired by your eagerness to fight. Your group’s auto attack speed is increased by 25% for 20 seconds.

Drop Da Basha
25 AP – 5 ft range
Instant cast – 5s cooldown

Requires Parry
You disarm your target for 5 seconds.

Go For Da Soft Spot
30 AP – 5 ft range
Instant cast – No cooldown

Target must be facing away from you.
You deal 175 damage to your enemy.

Lotsa Choppin
30 AP – 5 ft range
Instant Cast – No Cooldown

You wildly swing at your enemy dealing 100 damage. Your attack has a chance to hit up to two more enemies within 10 feet for 75 damage. 

Furious Choppin’
25 AP / Sec – 5 ft range
5s Cast – 20s cooldown

Must be Berserk
Exhausts your Berserk
A merciless strike of attacks that repeatedly hits your target for up to 5 seconds, dealing up to 175 damage. You will be healed for all damage this ability deals.
If you are overexerted, the damage is reduced to 125 damage.

Shrug It Off
45 AP – No range
Instant cast – 60s cooldown

Any roots or snares are removed, as all attempts to impede your movement are futile. For the next 10 seconds, roots and snares will have no effect on you.

Reckless Blow
20 AP – 5 ft range
Instant cast – No cooldown

Must be Berserk
Exhausts your Berserk
Deals 175 damage and for 10 seconds you will take 5% more damage.
If overexerted, the the damage is reduced to 125 damage.

Bypass Defenses
No Cost – No Range
3.0s Cast – 5m cooldown

You bolster yourself for 30 seconds, allowing you to bypass the defenses of an enemy keep’s postern door, porting you inside.

Wot’s Da Rush?
35 AP – 5 ft range
Instant cast – 30s cooldown

Must be Berserk
Exhausts your Berserk

You lash out to all enemies within 30 feet, causing them to suffer 168 damage over the next 9 seconds. All of the victims will also become snared, reducing their run speed anywhere from 10% to 40%.
If you are overexerted, the damage is reduced to 99 damage.

Outta My Face!
50 AP – No Range
Instant cast – 30s cooldown

All enemies within 30 feet are detaunted making them hate you less and reducing the damage they deal against you by 50% for 5 seconds. During this time, all of your attacks will cause enemies to hate you 25% less than normal. If you attack anyone you have detaunted, the effect will immediately end.

Can’t Stop Da Chop
40 AP – 5 ft range
Instant cast – 5s cooldown

You chop at your enemy, dealing 175 damage and reducing their Weapon Skill by 75 for 10 seconds.

Slasha
30 AP – 5 ft range
Instant cast – No cooldown

A furious slash that deals 75 damage and reduces your target’s Toughness by 25 for 9 seconds. This effect is stackable up to three times.

Weaklin’ Killa
40 AP – 5 ft range
Instant cast – 30s cooldown

Must be Berserk
Exhausts your Berserk

You unleash a powerful blow, dealing 300 damage.
If you are overexerted, deals 175 damage.

Fling Choppa
20 AP – 5-65 ft range
1s cast – No cooldown

A basic throwing attack that inflicts 75 damage.

Charge!
No cost – No rage
Instant cast – 30s cooldown

You charge into the thick of battle, increasing your movement speed by 50% for 7 seconds. If you use any abilities, the effect will immediately end.
