img class=”resize” style=”float: right;” src=”http://alexplorer.net/guitar/text/guitar/bossk.jpg” alt=”" /I think Mythic stumbled onto a gem of an idea with Night of Murder’s marks that needs to be examined and explored more — because there’s a lot of potential sitting in that thar gold mine.  Many people have commented on the shift in scenario/oRvR dynamics that was caused by simply popping a symbol over some players’ heads.  In the live event, killing these guys only resulted in helping you to complete a quest for some meager XP and influence, but I’m wondering if the system could be tweaked and used in a new fashion.br /br /Consider it a bounty hunting system.  It’s freely optional to those who want to participate — you go to your capital city and sign up with a bounty hunter (who acts as a toggle on/off for this system).  From then on, whenever you went into RvR combat, both you and whoever else has opted in will have identifying symbols above their heads to signify special targets.  This could be as simple as another influence reward bar (kill the other bounty hunters to get INF), or it could be a new system entirely, as you rack up bounty kills.br /br /Or perhaps some players could put a bounty on the head of enemy players who have killed them a certain number of times (kind of a “revenge bounty” that would only be available under certain conditions) — all players would see the bounty mark, and whoever killed the mark would get double XP/renown as incentive.br /br /Or even consider a special scenario that’s played a bit like that college “assassin” game, where you have one target you’re gunning for to eliminate while someone else is gunning for you, easily marked with those floating-above-the-head symbols.br /br /Or perhaps the game might mark players in PvP who haven’t died in a long time — a “survivor’s mark” — and amply reward players who kill them.br /br /Maybe none of these are feasible, but I just wanted to show that there’s a lot of ways this small mechanic could be used for greater PvP purposes in the future.
