Busy On The House

Currently stretched from pillar to post.

Ripping existing 1st floor up to lay network cables to 13 points (26 cables) on the ground and 1st floors, plumber moving 3 radiators, plasterer hopefully going to make good on the damage inflicted on the house. Wife just wants this crap to be finished, so she can live in a house which is finished. She doesn’t get my grand vision, she just thinks I’m nesting.

I do hope that POE switches come down in price over the next couple of years, so that I can incorporate into my network. Though it just seems that IP cameras and phones seem to be using it.

Moved my kit into loft office, which is all very nice. Need to sort out some shelving to hold NAS box(s) and silent (very important) 24 port switch. I basically need to store extra hardware in a proper space, so it doesn’t end up becoming clutter.

From the 30/8 to the 13/9 I am going to be very quiet while I lay and oil new 1st floor, while avoiding putting any secret nails into pre-existing water pipes. Shouldn’t be a problem, but if things get rushed, then accidents tend to happen.

The good news, is that 1.3.6 is out and I’m currently downloading all 173MB. Though downloading from Mythic has all the magic of watching paint dry, it’s that slow. So I’m happy that I’ll get to try it all out before my next project starts (see above).

This Friday is going to be a Warhammer gaming day, which I decided to give myself this afternoon. Hopefully I can finish the live event in one day. Though still peeved about last weeks, Blood Bowl Basin one. I went to bed Sunday night, with 50/50, 49/50 and a 45/50, thinking I could finish them off Monday evening, since I was pretty sure that they run on till Monday night. Logged in just after 7pm, clicked on join scenario to find no Blood Bowl Basin. Does anyone know the EXACT running times for these live events. Still peeved of London.
